Ingredients

  • 1 (4 oz.) pkg. pepperoni, sliced
  • 6 oz. pkg. spaghetti noodles
  • 1/2 stick butter or margarine
  • 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 (4 oz.) can sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 1/2 tsp. basil
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 2 c. grated Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 pkg. sliced Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • Parmesan cheese

Directions

    Boil pepperoni 5 minutes.

    Drain on paper towels.

    Cook and drain spaghetti.

    Add butter and a generous amount of Parmesan cheese to spaghetti.

    Cook onions and ground beef together; drain. Add tomato sauce and seasonings to meat; simmer, covered, for 20 minutes.

    Add drained mushrooms to meat sauce after it simmers. Layer in 9 x 13-inch Pyrex dish in this order:

    spaghetti, grated Mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, meat sauce and sliced Mozzarella cheese.

    Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 20 minutes.
