Ingredients
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 3 1/2 c. sifted flour
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. scalded milk
Directions

1Soften yeast in water.

2Set aside.

3Combine scalded milk, sugar, salt and shortening.

4Cool to lukewarm.

5Add 1 cup flour and beat well.

6Mix in yeast and egg.

7Add remaining flour and mix well.

8Cover and let rise for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until it doubles.

9Make into rolls, bread or cinnamon rolls.

10Let rise about 20 minutes.

11Bake at 350° until golden brown.

12Brush with butter.
