- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 3 1/2 c. flour
Directions

1Soften yeast in the warm water.

2Combine milk, shortening, sugar and salt; cool to lukewarm.

3Add yeast and egg.

4Gradually stir in flour to form a soft dough.

5Beat vigorously.

6Cover and let rise until double (about 2 hours); turn on floured surface and use in any variation.

7Either shortening or sugar or both increased to 1/4 cup will make a richer dough.
