Ingredients
- 2 c. sifted Pillsbury's Best all-purpose flour
- 1 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. Land O Lakes butter with 1 c. buttermilk or sour milk
- 1 3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 unbeaten eggs
- 1 tsp. Burnett's pure vanilla
Directions

1Sift the first 4 ingredients together.

2Melt butter with buttermilk or sour milk.

3Cool to room temperature.

4Combine brown sugar, eggs and vanilla in mixing bowl.

5Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk mixture, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.

6(With electric mixer, use a low speed.)

7Turn into a 13 x 9-inch pan, greased and floured on bottom.

8Bake at 375° for 25 to 30 minutes until cake springs back when touched lightly in center.

9Spread with topping.

10Broil, watching carefully, until bubbly and golden brown, 2 to 3 minutes.
