- 2 cups port wine
- 12 cup dry red wine
- 12 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon grated orange rind
- 6 whole cloves
- 1 whole star anise
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 12 cup whipped cream
- 12 cup toasted slivered almonds
Directions

1combine first 8 ingredients in a saucepan, bring to a boil.

2boil for a few minutes to eliminate the alcohol.

3cover, reduce heat to simmer, cook for 40 minutes.

4sauce should be thick and syrupy.

6remove cloves, cinammon stick, star anise.
