Polish Stewed Cabbage

- 1 large head cabbage
- 1 pkg. or jar sauerkraut
- 1 lb. smoked kielbasa (1 lb. bacon, cut up, can be used)
- dash of salt and pepper
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- water
Directions

1Put shredded cabbage in 4 to 5-quart pot.

2Pour kraut with juice over cabbage.

3Add water to cover 3/4 of the cabbage.

4Fry bacon pieces with onion until done and pour over cabbage mixture (grease included).

5If using kielbasa, cut into slices.

6Cook until tender, then add 1 tablespoon sugar and 2 tablespoons vinegar or to your taste.
