- 3 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil, Canola Or Peanut
- 13 cups Popcorn Kernels
- 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil Or Melted Butter
- Freshly Ground Black Pepper
- 1/2 teaspoons Kosher Salt
- 3 Tablespoons Nutritional Yeast Or Finely Grated Cheese
Directions

1Heat on medium-high heat, a 5-quart pot with 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil.

2Add 3 popcorn kernels to the oil and place the lid on the pot.

3When the kernels begin to pop, remove the pot from the heat.

4Pour in an even layer the 1/3 cup of popcorn kernels.

5Cover and slowly count to 30.

6After 30 seconds, return the pot to the medium-high heat.

7When the kernels begin to pop, gently swirl the pot to encourage the remaining kernels to pop.

8When the popping stops, turn off the heat and pour popcorn into a large bowl.

9While the popcorn is hot, toss with your favorite topping.

10My favorite (a throwback to my vegan days) is a generous drizzle of olive oil, lots of nutritional yeast (major umami), salt and freshly ground pepper.
