  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. dark corn syrup
  • 1 tsp. vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 6 qt. popcorn
  • 1 tsp. baking soda

Directions

    Mix first 5 ingredients well and cook at medium heat, stirring constantly, until sugar is melted or until 290° is reached on candy thermometer.

    Remove from heat and stir in baking soda until syrup becomes foamy.

    Pour over 4 quarts popped popcorn.

    Stir until corn is well coated.

    Butter hands and press corn into balls.
