  • 3 qt. popcorn, popped
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/3 c. white Karo syrup
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1/4 c. margarine
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Mix sugar, syrup, water, butter and salt in saucepan and cook, stirring, until sugar dissolves.

    Continue cooking without stirring, until syrup forms a brittle ball in cold water or reaches 250° on a candy thermometer.

    Add vanilla and stir only until mixed through the hot syrup.

    Place popcorn in a large bowl. Pour the cooked syrup slowly over the popcorn and mix well.
