  • 4 cups sugar
  • 1 cup poppy seeds
  • 1/4 cup plus 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 4 teaspoons salt
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1-1/4 cups milk
  • 1/3 cup canola oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    In a large bowl, combine the first 5 ingredients. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months.

    In a large bowl, combine egg, milk, oil and vanilla. Add 4 cups bread mix; stir just until moistened.

    Pour into a greased 9x5-in. loaf pan. Bake at 350° until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, 55-60 minutes. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pan to a wire rack.
