- 4 unbaked pie crusts
- 2 1/2 lb. ground pork
- 2 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 2 c. water
- 6 to 7 small onions
- bread (1/2 to 1 loaf)
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 tsp. sage
- 1/4 tsp. poultry seasoning
- 1/4 tsp. allspice
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 c. applesauce
Directions

1Simmer pork, beef, water, onion, salt and pepper for 1 1/2 hours.

2Let cool; skim off fat.

3Add enough bread to hold meat mixture together.

4Add spices and applesauce; mix well.

5Divide into 2 unbaked pie crusts; add top crusts.

6Poke top and bake at 425° for 15 minutes.

7May freeze baked pies.

8Wrap well.

9Heat thoroughly before serving.
