Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 lb. pot roast
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 1 sliced onion
  • 2 c. wine or water
  • 1 bouillon cube
  • 2 1/2 c. cubed carrots
  • 3 or 4 large potatoes, cubed

Directions

    Brown the roast and put into a large cooking pot with lid. Add nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, onion, wine and bouillon.

    Cook 1 hour at 350°, then add carrots and potatoes.

    Cook 5 hours at 250°.
