Ingredients: 2 c. sugar; 1 c. butter or oleo; 4 eggs, separated (add yolks, beat whites); 1 c. mashed potatoes; 1 c. milk; 2 c. sifted cake flour; 1 Tbsp. vanilla; 1 tsp. cinnamon; 2 Tbsp. cocoa; 1/2 tsp. allspice; 3 tsp. baking powder; 1/2 tsp. salt; 1 c. pecans

1/2 tsp. allspice
3 tsp. baking powder

Directions

Cream butter and sugar together; add well-beaten egg yolks. Add mashed potatoes, then add milk and dry ingredients alternately.

Beat egg whites until very stiff and fold into mixture carefully.

Pour into three (9-inch) cake pans, greased and floured.

Bake 20 minutes in a 350° oven.

Frost with your favorite chocolate icing.
