Potato Frank Chowder

Ingredients

  • 3 c. finely diced raw potatoes
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 1/2 lb. frankfurters
  • 1/3 c. chopped onion
  • 1/3 c. chopped celery
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 1/4 c. (10 1/2 oz. can) cream of celery soup
  • 1 c. skim milk or 1 c. reconstituted nonfat dry milk
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. dill weed

Directions

    Cook potatoes in water for 10 minutes, or until just tender. Slice frankfurters into 1/4-inch slices.

    Saute with onion and celery in butter in large saucepan until vegetables are tender. Add soup, milk, salt, dill weed, potatoes and water.

    Mix thoroughly.

    Heat to boiling.

    Reduce heat and boil gently, uncovered, for 5 minutes.

    Stir occasionally.
