Ingredients

  • 1 to 2 cakes dry yeast, dissolved in 1/4 c. water
  • 1 c. mashed potatoes
  • 1 c. potato water
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. shortening
  • 4 to 7 c. flour

Directions

    Mix the first four ingredients together.

    Beat eggs, then add salt and shortening.

    Mix with first mixture.

    Then add flour and knead like bread.

    Place in greased bowl.

    Cover and keep punched down until you want to bake.

    Then pinch off small pieces and work in a ball.

    Place on greased pan close together.

    Let raise. Bake at 400° for 10 to 15 minutes.
