- 1 large onion
- 5 large potatoes
- 2 Tbsp. fat (butter or margarine)
- 1 c. water
- 3 c. milk
- 2 tsp. salt
- pepper (as you like)
- 1 to 2 c. vegetables (peas, carrots, mixed)
Directions

1Chop onion.

2Cut up potatoes.

3Cook onion in fat in a large pan until tender.

4Add water and potatoes.

5Cover and boil gently until potatoes are done.

6Partly mash potatoes with a fork without draining them.

7Add milk, salt, vegetables and pepper.

8Heat slowly, stirring to keep them from sticking.

9Do not boil.

10Makes 6 servings, 1 cup each.
