Ingredients

  • 6 large potatoes, peeled and cut into 2-inch cubes
  • 2 cans chicken broth
  • 3 c. hot water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 large onions, coarsely cut
  • 3 large carrots, diced
  • 2 ribs celery, sliced
  • 1 can chunk ham, flaked
  • 2 c. milk
  • 6 to 8 slices American cheese or use 2 c. grated Cheddar cheese

Directions

    In large soup pot, add potatoes, broth, water, salt, pepper, garlic, onion, carrots and celery.

    Cook until vegetables are tender. Add ham, milk and cheese. Continue to simmer approximately 10 minutes. More salt, pepper or garlic may be added to taste.
