  • 1 (2 lb.) bag frozen hash brown chunk potatoes (have at room temperature, about 1/2 hour)
  • 1 pt. sour cream
  • 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can condensed cream of chicken soup, undiluted
  • 4 Tbsp. margarine (melted)
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 8 oz. (1 c.) Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 c. corn flakes
  • 4 Tbsp. margarine, melted

Directions

    Partially thaw potatoes; heat oven to 350°.

    Mix sour cream, soup, margarine, onion, salt, pepper, garlic salt and cheese. Stir in potatoes and place mixture in lightly buttered 9 x 13-inch pan.

    With hands, crush corn flakes; stir in 4 tablespoons melted margarine.

    Spread over potato mixture.

    Bake in 350° oven for 1 hour.
