- 1 c. dry bread crumbs
- 1 onion, grated
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 c. milk
Directions

1In a heavy saucepan, combine all ingredients and simmer, covered over low heat for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

2Pour into an earthenware crock or rustic serving dish. Chill.

3Makes a delicious spread on melba toast for appetizer or on a slice of crusty bread for lunch.
