- 2 sticks butter
- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 3 c. sugar
- 1 c. milk
- 1 1/2 tsp. lemon flavoring
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 5 eggs
- 3 c. plain flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
Directions

1Sift flour, salt and baking powder 3 times and set aside. Cream the butter and Crisco thoroughly. Add sugar.

2Cream well. Put vanilla and lemon flavoring in the milk. Add 1/2 milk to mixture, then add a little flour and one egg.

3Repeat until all flour and eggs are used, beating well. Add remaining milk, still beating until smooth.

4Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours for tube pan. (Less time needed for 2 loaf pans.)
