  • 3 sticks butter (at room temperature)
  • 5 eggs (at room temperature)
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 can evaporated milk plus water*

Directions

    Mix butter and eggs in large bowl until smooth.

    Slowly mix in sugar and vanilla.

    Add baking powder and mix well.

    Slowly add flour mixture.

    Pour evaporated milk in measuring cup and add enough water to make a cup.

    Slowly add milk and water to mixture. Bake for 1 1/2 hours at 325°.
