  • 1/2 lb. butter
  • 1 lb. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. almond extract
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 lb. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 c. sugar (1 lb.)
  • 3 c. flour (1 lb.)

    Cream butter.

    Beat in sugar, a little at a time.

    When creamy, add eggs (one at a time) beating well after each addition. Add almond and vanilla extract to milk.

    Alternate milk and flour mixture (which has been sifted several times with baking powder), beating lightly until smooth.

    Bake at 350° for 1 hour in ungreased tube pan.
