- 1 lb. butter
- 2 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 1/2 c. flour, sifted
- 8 medium eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 8 Tbsp. cream
Directions

1Separate eggs.

2Whip egg whites and add 6 level tablespoons of sugar while beating.

3Place mixture in refrigerator until rest of cake is mixed.

4Cream butter and gradually add rest of sugar.

5Add egg yolks, two at a time, beating well after each addition.

6Add flour and cream alternately.

7Whip until mixture is as light as possible (use low speed on mixer).

8At low speed, whip in egg white mixture only long enough to mix well.

9Bake 1 hour 25 minutes at 300°.

10Use a 10 x 4-inch deep pan.
