  • 2 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 c. milk
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice

    Cream sugar and Crisco until fluffy.

    Add eggs, one at a time, until all added.

    Add flour alternately with milk and flavoring.
