  • 1 lb. butter
  • 1 lb. confectioners sugar
  • 3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 7 large eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

    Cream butter and sugar together until fluffy.

    Add one egg at a time, beating well after each egg.

    Add vanilla to mixture and blend well.

    Sift flour and baking powder together and add to the mixture.

    Beat at medium speed for 1 to 2 minutes.

    Pour batter into lined greased tube pan.

    Bake in a preheated oven of 325° for 1 hour or until cake springs back when touched lightly with finger. Remove from oven and allow to cool 10 minutes before removing from pan.
