- 3/4 lb. butter
- 1 lb. confectioners sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 6 eggs
- 1 confectioners sugar box all-purpose flour (level; do not shake down)
- 1/2 tsp. mace
Directions

1Have butter and eggs at room temperature.

2Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy (in mixer).

3Add vanilla and mace. Add eggs one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition. Add flour and mix only until blended.

4Put into a buttered and floured 10-inch tube pan.

5Bake in moderate oven at 325° for about 1 1/2 hours.

6Let stand in pan 5 minutes.

7Turn out to cool.
