  • 1/3 c. butter or margarine
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans
  • 1 (3 1/4 oz.) pkg. Jell-O butterscotch pudding and pie filling
  • 6 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/3 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 lightly baked 9-inch pie shell
  • 1 3/4 c. milk
  • 2 large or 3 medium eggs, separated

Directions

    Combine butter and sugar in a saucepan.

    Cook and stir until sugar melts and mixture bubbles vigorously.

    Remove from heat; stir in nuts.

    Spread mixture over bottom of lightly baked (but not browned) pie shell.

    Bake in a hot 425° oven for 5 minutes or until bubbly.

    Remove from oven.
