- 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans divided
- 1 1/2 cups butter or margarine (softened)
- 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
- 3 cups brown sugar
- 6 eggs, at room temperature
- 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
Directions

1Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

2Grease and flour a 10 inch tube pan.

3Sprinkle 1/2 cup chopped pecans in the pan.

4Set aside. Cream butter or margarine and cream cheese.

5Add brown sugar and cream, until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes.

6Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each.

7Fold in flour until just combined. Do not over mix.

8Stir in vanilla and remaining 1 cup chopped pecans.

9Spoon batter into prepared pan and place on a baking sheet in the oven.

10Bake for 1/2 hours or until a wooden pick inserted in center of cake comes out clean.

11Cool in pan for 10 minutes. Remove to rack to cool completely.
