Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 14 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 3 medium red onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 green chilies
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • 4 curry leaves
  • 14 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala

Directions

    Combine the ingredients for marinating.

    Marinate the prawns in this mixture for half an hour.

    Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the prawns until just cooked through.

    Remove from pan, reserving remaining oil in the pan.

    Saute the onions and green chillies in the same oil used for frying prawns until the color of the vegetables changes.

    Add the ginger-garlic paste and saute again till the fresh smell of the paste goes away.

    Add all the powders and fry well.

    Add tomato and saute till tomatoes cooked.

    Add the fried prawns and salt as desired.

    Cover and let it simmer for 3 minutes.

    Sprinkle garam masala and add curry leaves.

    Mix and serve with rice or chappathi.
