Directions

   Combine butter, sugar and milk in a saucepan.

   Boil for 3 minutes at a rolling boil.

   Stir in cocoa, oatmeal, vanilla and nuts or coconut.

   Beat well.

   Working quickly, drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper.

   Cool 5 minutes.

   Yields 3 dozen.
