  • 1/4 ounce absinthe
  • Ice
  • 1 ounce bonded rye whiskey, preferably Rittenhouse 100
  • 1 ounce VSOP Cognac
  • 1/4 ounce Rich Simple Syrup
  • 3 dashes of Peychauds bitters
  • 1 lemon twist

Directions

    Rinse a chilled rocks glass with the absinthe; pour out the excess.

    Fill a pint glass with ice.

    Add the rye, Cognac, Rich Simple Syrup and bitters and stir well.

    Strain into the rocks glass, pinch the twist over the drink and discard.
