- 2 c. cooked pinto beans, well drained, mashed and unsalted
- 1 stick margarine, melted
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. sifted flour
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. seedless raisins
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. finely chopped apples, peeled
Directions

1The beans should be soaked overnight and then cooked in water to cover in the usual manner, adding no salt or meat.

2Cook until tender enough to mash with a fork.

3Cream melted margarine and sugar.

4Add vanilla and eggs and beat in mashed beans.

5Sift dry ingredients together, then stir into bean mixture.

6Stir in raisins, apples and nuts.
