  • 1/4 c. butter flavored Crisco
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1/2 c. sour milk
  • 1 1/4 c. stewed prunes, chopped
  • 2 c. cake flour
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp. cloves

    Cream shortening and sugar.

    Add eggs and beat well.

    Blend in prunes and milk.

    Sift in dry ingredients and beat until fluffy. Bake in a greased, floured tube pan or square pan (350°) for 30 minutes or until straw comes out clean.
