  • 2 c. sifted self-rising flour
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 1/4 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3/4 c. salad oil
  • 3 whole eggs
  • 1/4 c. buttermilk
  • 1 c. prunes
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. buttermilk
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 tsp. white corn syrup
  • 1 box Duncan Hines yellow cake mix
  • 1 small box vanilla instant pudding and pie filling mix
  • 2/3 c. oil (Mazola)
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. brandied fruit (do not use the juice)
  • 1 c. nuts (pecans)

Directions

    Combine the cake mix, pie filling, eggs and oil.

    Mix well. The mixture will be stiff.

    Add the brandied fruit and the nuts. Bake in a tube pan at 350° for 60 minutes.

    Let the cake cool in the pan for 20 or 25 minutes.
