Ingredients
- 1/4 lb. dried prunes (1 1/2 c.)
- 2 c. sifted flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. cloves
- 1/2 c. oil
- 3 eggs
- 1 recipe crumb topping
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Cover prunes with water.

2Cover and simmer until tender; do not sweeten.

3Drain, saving 2/3 cup liquid.

4Add water if necessary.

5Pit and chop prunes.

6Sift together dry ingredients. Add prune liquid and oil.

7Mix to blend and then beat vigorously 2 minutes.

8Add eggs; beat 1 minute longer.

9Stir in prunes and pour into greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan.

10Sprinkle with crumb top, then nuts and bake at 350° for 45 minutes.

11Serve warm.
