- 1 can hominy (No. 2 1/2)
- 2 c. water
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 small onion (whole)
- 2 lb. pork or chicken, cut in small chunks
- 3 tsp. ground chili or 2 large red pods
- 1 tsp. ground oregano
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. saffron (asafran)
- 1 can chopped green chillies
Directions

1Cook the meat until done.

2Add the hominy and all other ingredients, except the oregano and the saffron.

3Simmer about two hours.

4Add the oregano and the saffron and let simmer 15 minutes. Serve on dry toast with a side dish of cottage cheese.
