  • FOR THE BROWN SUGAR MIXTURE:
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 teaspoon Margarine Or Butter
  • 1 Tablespoon Flour
  • 2 cups Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

  • FOR THE CAKE:
  • 1 cup White Sugar
  • 3/4 cups Milk
  • 1-3/4 cup All-purpose Flour
  • 1 whole Egg
  • 2 Tablespoons Margarine Or Butter
  • 1-1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder

Directions

    Mix the ingredients for the brown sugar mixture together in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and stir until sugar is disolved. Once this has been done, put aside to start your cake batter.

    Mix the cake ingredients. This mixture will be quite thick. Once this mixture is all mixed well, put it in a buttered 13x8 pan.

    Pour the brown sugar mixture over this cake. Do not mix the liquid with the cake.

    Bake at 375°F for 35-45 minutes. You will see that the liquid has gone to the bottom with the cake on top!

    You can serve this with vanilla cream or whipped cream. You can may also eat this cake at room temperature.
