  • 14 cup green onion, with tops sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 cup American cheese, shredded
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 13 cup milk
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 3 stiffly beaten egg whites
  • 1 (8 ounce) packagebrown-and-serve sausage links

    Cook onion in butter till tender but not brown.

    Cook potatoes in boiling salted water till tender, about 10 minutes; drain and mash (about 2 cups mashed).
