  • 1/2 cake yeast, dissolved in 1/4 c. water
  • 1 c. milk, scalded
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1/3 c. butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 eggs, well beaten
  • about 3 3/4 c. flour
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. nuts
  • 3 tsp. cinnamon

Directions

    Add sugar, butter and salt to scalded milk.

    Cool to lukewarm. Add dissolved yeast, eggs and enough flour to make a stiff batter.

    Cover and let rise to double in bulk.

    Stir down; let rise again.
