Ingredients

  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1 c. scalded milk
  • 1/3 cake yeast
  • 3 3/4 c. flour
  • 1/3 c. oleo, melted
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 eggs, well beaten
  • 1/2 c. nuts
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar
  • 3 tsp. cinnamon

    Add sugar, oleo and salt to scalded milk. When lukewarm, add the dissolved yeast, eggs and just enough flour to make a stiff batter. Cover and let rise until double in bulk. Work down. Let rise again. Pull off ball size of walnut; dip in melted oleo. Roll each ball in mixture of the last 3 ingredients. Place these balls in ungreased angel food cake pan. Let raise for 30 minutes. Bake for 11 minutes at 400°, then reduce heat to 350° for 30 minutes. Turn pan upside down immediately.
