Pulled Cream Candy

Ingredients

  • 3 c. white sugar
  • 1 c. hot water
  • pinch of soda
  • 1 c. milk (a spoonful at a time, so it will not stop boiling)
  • 1 stick creamery butter (a little at a time)

Directions

    Mix sugar, hot water and soda in a large, heavy kettle.

    Start boiling on high, then reduce to medium heat and let boil until it starts turning a cream color (248°).

    Do not stir.

    Pour on buttered marble slab.
  5. 5
    Butter hands and start working until cool enough to hold in hands.

    Start pulling and pull until it holds its shape (will be almost white in color).

    Cut with scissors into pillows and cool on marble slab.

    Can be eaten then or stored in airtight container.
