  • 3 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2/3 c. water
  • 2 2/3 c. sugar
  • 2/3 c. oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 can pumpkin

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350°.

    In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon. Stir together.

    In larger bowl, blend together the sugar and oil until fluffy.

    Gradually add the eggs, pumpkin and water.

    Mix well.

    Add the flour mixture, a little at a time.

    Stir well.

    Pour batter into greased loaf pans and add raisins or chopped nuts to the batter before baking to give the bread added flavor.

    Bake for 45 to 60 minutes.
