  • 3 cups white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup oil

  • 12 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ginger (optional)
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups pumpkin, cooked and cooled
  • 4 eggs

    Combine dry ingredients.

    Add water, oil, and pumpkin.

    Pour half full into three greased and floured 9 by 5 inch loaf pans.

    Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or when toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.
