  • 1 c. pumpkin
  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2 c. flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1/3 c. sour milk
  • 2/3 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Directions

    Cream the margarine and sugars. Add egg and pumpkin.

    Sift together all dry ingredients. Beat in alternating with sour milk. Add nuts, if desired.

    Bake in two 8-inch greased cake pans.

    Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Cool. Frost with Fluffy White Icing.
