- 3 c. sugar
- 3 eggs
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c. chopped nuts
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 c. fresh cooked or canned pumpkin
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. cloves
- 1/2 tsp. allspice
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
Directions

1Cream shortening and sugar.

2Add eggs and pumpkin, mixing well.

3Add remaining ingredients as listed, mixing after each addition.

4Bake in tube or Bundt pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray and floured.

5Bake at 350° for 10 minutes; then lower heat to 300° and bake 55 minutes.

6Remove cake from oven and let cool for about 10 minutes before removing from pan.
