- 1/4 cup softened butter or margarine
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup pumpkin cooked and mashed
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 1/2 cup raisins optional
Directions

1Cream butter and sugar.

2Beat in the eggs, then the pumpkin and milk.

3Stir in the dry ingredients sifted together.

4Beat until well blended.

5Stir in nuts and raisins, and turn into a well-buttered and floured loaf pan.

6Bake at 350° for 45 to 55 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in centre comes out clean.

7Cool on a rack, slice, butter, and enjoy.
