Pumpkin Squares

Ingredients

  • 1 large can pumpkin
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 1/2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 c. evaporated milk
  • 1 pkg. Duncan Hines spice cake mix
  • 2/3 c. pecan halves
  • 1 1/3 cubes melted margarine

Directions

    Mix together pumpkin, sugar, salt, spice, eggs and milk. Spread in greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Sprinkle 1/2 package of cake mix over top.

    Spread on pecan halves, then drizzle melted margarine over top.

    Make sure all of the dry cake mix is covered with margarine.

    Bake at 350° for 1 hour.

    Check after mixture has been in the oven 10 minutes to make certain there are no dry spots, if so put more melted margarine on top.

    May be served with whipped cream.

    Store remainder of cake mix in plastic bag for later use.
