- 1 c. margarine or butter, softened (2 sticks)
- 1 1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 Tbsp. milk
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
- 2 1/2 c. Quaker oats
Directions

1Heat oven to 375°.

2Beat butter and sugars until creamy.

3Add eggs, milk and vanilla; beat well.

4Add flour, baking soda and salt; mix well.

5Stir in oats.
-
6Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.

7Bake 9 to 10 minutes for a chewy cookie or 12 to 13 minutes for a crisp cookie.

8Cool 1 minute.

9Makes 5 dozen 2 1/2-inch cookies.
