- 1/2 lb. bacon, cooked and drained
- 1/2 to 3/4 c. finely chopped onion
- 1/2 lb. Gruyere cheese, grated (you can use Swiss)
- 5 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. light cream
- 1 tsp. salt
- nutmeg
- cayenne pepper
- ginger
- 1 deep dish pie shell
Directions

1Mix slightly beaten eggs with light cream and salt.

2Cook onion about 5 minutes in 1 tablespoon butter; add onion, cheese and crumbled bacon to egg mixture.

3Season with nutmeg, cayenne pepper and dash of ginger.

4Precook pie shell for about 8 to 10 minutes.

5Pour mixture into shell.

6Sprinkle with paprika.

7Bake 10 minutes at 450°; lower heat to 325° and bake 30 to 45 minutes or until center is firm.
