Ingredients

  • 1 (9-inch) unbaked pastry shell
  • 8 slices bacon, diced
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 lb. Swiss cheese, shredded
  • 1 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • dash of bottled hot pepper sauce
  • dash of nutmeg
  • 1 3/4 c. milk
  • 3 beaten eggs

Directions

    Bake pastry shell in very hot oven at 450° for about 5 to 7 minutes, until lightly browned.

    Remove from oven and reduce heat to 325°.

    Fry bacon and onion until bacon is crisp; drain.

    Place in pie shell.

    Add cheese.

    Combine remaining ingredients and pour over those in pie shell.

    Bake at 325° for 35 to 40 minutes or until almost set in the middle.

    Cool 25 minutes.
